Embark on a 11-day journey across
Madagascar, where you’ll discover the island’s rich landscapes, unique
wildlife, and diverse cultures. From the highland plateaus and lush rainforests
to the stunning southern coastline, this tour offers a complete experience of
Madagascar’s most captivating regions. You’ll have more
time to explore each destination by road, allowing for greater immersion in the
local culture and scenic beauty.

Day 1: TANA
– ANTSIRABE (170KM / 4 Hours)
Depart from the capital city of Tana
in the morning with your guide, traveling along the scenic RN 7 towards
Antsirabe. Along the way, take in views of typical Malagasy villages, with
their red-earth houses nestled in the fertile valley. Stop at roadside stalls
offering fresh produce before arriving in Antsirabe, a city renowned for its
thermal springs. After settling into your hotel, enjoy a leisurely afternoon visiting
the serene Andraikiba Lake and browsing the local gemstone stalls.

Day 2:
ANTSIRABE – AMBOSITRA (90KM / 3 Hours)
After breakfast, travel to
Ambositra, known as the artisanal capital of Madagascar. This town is the
gateway to the Zafimaniry villages, where the traditional woodcarving skills
have been recognized by UNESCO. Spend the day exploring the local workshops and
admire the intricate craftsmanship of the Zafimaniry artisans.

Day 3:
AMBOSITRA – FIANARANTSOA (238KM / 5 Hours)
This morning, visit the village of
Antoetra, home to the Zafimaniry people, before continuing your journey through
terraced rice fields and scenic countryside to Fianarantsoa. Known for its rich
cultural heritage and winemaking traditions, Fianarantsoa is the perfect place
to experience the essence of the Malagasy highlands.

Day 4:
FIANARANTSOA – RANOMAFANA (70KM / 2 Hours)
After breakfast, head to the lush
rainforests of Ranomafana National Park. En route, you'll pass through terraced
landscapes and small villages that offer a glimpse into daily life in the
highlands. Upon arrival, explore the natural beauty of Ranomafana, renowned for
its diverse wildlife and thermal springs.

Day 5:
RANOMAFANA NATIONAL PARK
Spend the day discovering the
wonders of Ranomafana National Park. This UNESCO World Heritage site is home to
12 species of lemurs, including the golden bamboo lemur and the elusive greater
bamboo lemur. Wander through the misty rainforests, where you’ll also find a
wealth of endemic plants, birds, and reptiles.

Day 6:
RANOMAFANA – AMBALAVAO – RANOHIRA (339KM / 8 Hours)
Today, journey south along the RN 7 towards Ranohira, with a stop in the charming town of Ambalavao. Visit a local workshop that produces traditional Antemoro paper and silk products. If time permits, we will visit also Anjà Park to discover the lemurs. As you leave the highlands, the landscape shifts to vast open savannas and rocky outcrops, leading to the spectacular region of Isalo National Park.

Day 7:
RANOHIRA – ISALO NATIONAL PARK
A full day is dedicated to exploring
Isalo National Park, one of Madagascar’s most iconic natural wonders. The
park’s unique sandstone formations, deep canyons, and hidden waterfalls create
an otherworldly landscape. You’ll hike through its rugged terrain, visit sacred
tombs of the Bara people, and possibly spot lemurs and other wildlife that call
this stunning park home.

Day 8:
RANOHIRA – TULÉAR / IFATY (275KM / 4.5 Hours)
After breakfast, continue your journey south
through the vast semi-arid landscapes of Madagascar, passing through the lands
of the Antandroy and Mahafaly tribes. Arrive in Tuléar, the "City of the
Sun," and enjoy lunch before transferring to the seaside village of Ifaty,
where you can unwind on its pristine beaches.

Day 9: IFATY/TULÉAR – ANAKAO (Boat Transfer – 1 Hour)
In the morning, embark on a scenic
boat ride from Tuléar to the secluded coastal village of Anakao. Famous for its
white sand beaches, turquoise waters, and laid-back atmosphere, Anakao is a
haven for relaxation and exploration. After settling in, you can enjoy the
beach, take a walk through the village, or participate in optional water
activities such as snorkeling or diving.

Day 10:
ANAKAO – FREE DAY
Spend the day soaking up the sun on
Anakao’s pristine beaches. You may also choose to visit the nearby Nosy Ve
island, a small, uninhabited island that is perfect for snorkeling and
birdwatching. The clear waters around Anakao are ideal for discovering vibrant
coral reefs and marine life.

Day 11: ANAKAO – TULÉAR
– TANA (Boat Transfer + Flight)
After breakfast, take the boat back
to Tuléar, where you’ll transfer to the airport for your flight back to Tana.
Once in Tana, enjoy some free time to explore the capital or pick up
last-minute souvenirs before your international flight home.
Optional overnight in Tana upon request.
